Physical bullying, cyber bullying, verbal bullying, psychological insults, peer rejection affect far more than half of all students. These assaults do not just hurt the feelings of the victim, they can and often do alter the chemistry in their brain affecting how they think, how they interrogate information, how they associate to past knowledge and how they formulate responses by which their competence is judged by. While none of this is new, we do know that assault on the minds of students is increasing. What we little realise is the long term effect of this and how this can affect the victim far into adulthood. I discuss this very seriously in many of my books, illustrating exactly the danger of rises in cortisol and discussing why and how we need to fashion greater harmony in the school environment as an education for life after school. We need a new mindset in our citizens as they will face the order that A.I. must eventually come to impose upon them. All indications are that our societies, our civilization, will be policed by A.I. before this century is over.
