Today, Roy Andersen is an author and a globally recognised educational expert. He is much appraised for his many years of scientific research into what intelligence is, how to improve the operation of the school and how teachers can teach better.
Yet, as a child in school, Roy understood very little of his lessons. His marks were always below average. In maths, he was 28 in a class of 30. He really did not understand why other children seemed to know more or why they got better marks. It was, however, a shock for him, to open the envelope containing the results of his final school examinations and see he had failed completely every subject. After 12 years of education, he turned out to be a complete failure.
Following a series of real life adventures and two years later, Roy went back into education determined to succeed. In the first year, he was elected the top student in his college. When he left after three years, he had gained distinction in every one of the 14 examinations he had entered. How had he achieved this? It was simply (in the words of Einstein) that he had learnt how to play the game, and play it better than anyone else.
In his 30s, Roy decided that no child should fail in school as he had once done, and embarked upon a mission to find out how school works and why students struggle to gain good grades.
35 years later, Roy Andersen is now a distinguished scientist, global educationist and author of many books detailing how society and the school work together to produce a citizen worker. He has written and lectured profoundly on the need to redesign education to prepare the 21st century child for a world dominated by artificial intelligence, and so the need to teach our children to have greater intellectual and behavioural self-responsibility.
As AI will take over more and more jobs, societies will be faced with serious management problems maintaining law and order, while the school will be radically redesigned not to teach subjects designed for employment purposes but those teaching behavioural well being for the society and the individual. Our world is changing faster than we realise, and too little preparation is being made to handle these changes. Roy has spent the past 40 years predicting what is now happening and considering how we may better handle the new world we are moving into.
His books The Illusion of School and The Illusion of Education both explain how school is designed to cause many students to actually fail in their learning, as they are to be routed to either managerial or worker roles in their society. While Intelligence: The Great Lie explains the roots of education to fulfil this operation of the school. Based on 30 years of research, it uncovers the lies, fraud and falsification of data to politically control the opportunities of people in their society. His book Brain Plasticity underlies his theory of “The Brain Environment Complex” to explain the factors that really decide how intelligence comes to be in the individual and how it can be dramatically altered. In these two books, he completely destroys the foundations of Cognitive Psychology, the old Nature/Nurture debate and any thoughts of IQ or that intelligence can be measured. His other books explain in detail how the parent and the educationalist can raise the academic performance of any child, once they understand the importance of The Art of Sensitivity in Awareness and they know the rules of the game.
His books are said by professors of education around the world to be some of the best books written about school, society and learning.

Roy has devoted all of his adult life to the better development of children and has assisted in the design and planning of social and educational programs with the Ministers and Departments of Education in Denmark, Hungary, Latvia, India and Nepal.
He is also a trained Deaf and Blind teacher, a specialist in Petro’s Conductive Education for disabled children and is an expert in intelligence. He is the inventor of “The Brain Environment Complex Theory,” which presents a new concept to what intelligence is and how children actually learn.
Through his great experience in teaching Roy has developed “The Andersen Attitude Method of Teaching,” which is widely accepted as a simple but highly effective means for the normal teacher to dramatically improve the learning and grades of all of their students. He has conducted teacher training in England, Denmark, Hungary, Algeria, Nepal, India, Kashmir, Turkey, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and Pakistan. He has also created an Online course: “Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century”, to help teachers all over the world.
Roy travels the world to explain to politicians, educationalists and parents why school fails today and why and how each school can raise the performance of its students, but more importantly why we need to prepare our children with higher skills for the very different world they must live and work in. Our failing in this will deprive the future global citizen of the higher language skills and level of reasoning they will need to maintain democracy in a world dominated by artificial intelligence. Roy is constantly in demand as a guest lecturer in universities and international conferences on education. He was elected to judge the 2020 Shanghai International STEAM Curriculum Developer Gold Awards.

Book Reviews:
“The books of Roy Andersen are very important and should be read by every parent and educator in the world. They represent a real breakthrough in our understanding of what intelligence is and how it develops, and the importance of changing the ways students are both parented and educated. Roy is doing for learning the work that is as significant as was that done in the past by such figures as John Dewey. These are must-reads for both parents and educators alike.”
Prof / Dean Emeritus David Martin Ph.D Gallaudet University Washington, D.C. USA
“Roy’s series of books clearly and methodically map out exactly how students learn. He isn’t afraid to address head-on the many misconceptions that are plaguing our society and thus having a negative impact on our students’ learning. Parents and educators who read these books will not only have a better understanding, but will also be inspired to change in their attitudes and preconceived notions on how students can excel in their learning.
If you’ve ever wanted to unravel how student’s learn, then these books are the answer you have been looking for! They should be mandatory reading for every parent and educator.
